Taking the Scientific Pledge

I defended my PhD dissertation on Friday 2 June. This occurred in the Senaatzaal of Utrecht University's gorgeous Academiegebouw. Towards the end of the ceremony, I took the scientific pledge, which goes like this:

Supervisor: Do you promise always to perform your duties according to the principles of academic integrity: honestly and scrupulously, critically and transparently, independently and impartially?

Me: I promise.
